Mercury Compliance AG as a senior associate in September 2022. Previously, she worked for\u00a0more than nine years in the front compliance department of a large Zurich-based universal bank\u00a0advising various client segments in regulatory compliance. Irene started her legal career in a law firm\u00a0specialising in criminal and civil law in Zurich, where she also completed the internship required to\u00a0obtain her bar exam.<\/p><p>Irene has gained comprehensive experience in the prevention of money laundering and terrorist\u00a0financing and specialised in compliance matters. She held the expert function in regulatory overall\u00a0bank projects and was responsible for the drafting and implementation of compliance standards in<br \/>various areas. Moreover, she performed desk reviews as well as controls of clients involving\u00a0increased risks (incl. PEP).<br \/><br \/>Irene studied law at the University of Zurich and obtained her law degree (lic. iur.) in 2008.
